“A political remarriage just another citizen mockery”
[Special Economy=Eunji Kim]It’s looking like the fracturing within the opposition parties will not get resolved anytime soon.
The Minjoo Party of Korea’s interim leader, Rep. Kim Chong-in, and People’s Party standing committee joint Chairperson Rep. Ahn Cheol-soo have agreed for a meeting Friday to discuss the possible merger of the their two parties.
The two will, on this day, attend the Honam Friendship Foundation regular general meeting held at Cheongdam-dong’s Hotel Prima.
(These factions are currently involved in a battle to gain popular sentiment from the citizens of Honam).
There used to be just one opposition Minjoo Party, but Rep. Ahn decided to defect after some conflicts with the leader, and created his own faction, the People’s party.
Despite this meeting, these two leaders are not backing down from their contrasting views on the matter. Rep. Kim is offering a collaboration as one of his strategies, with the 20th legislative elections on the way, while Rep. Ahn is not caving in.
Rep. Kim has said that Rep. Ahn is not backing away from his thought of becoming the party nominee; Rep. Ahn, on the other hand, called Rep. Kim “only a temporary boss,” who “halted the constitutional government and seized full authority.”

As the schism continues, the tension is intensifying and what will be said at this indicated meeting has sparked a lot of attention.
