[Special Economy=Eunji Kim]As the political tug-of-war over key bills and constituency demarcation continues, Speaker Chung Ui-hwa 's plan to arbitrate a meeting involving representatives from both parties has fallen apart.
Now, the question is: will this situation remain unsolved throughout the coming Lunar New Year?
The speaker's intention was to hold a debate between Saenuri Chairman, Rep. Kim Moo-sung, and Minjoo Party's Rep. Kim Jong-in about the current matters on the table.
But, with the government and the Saenuri party's plan to hold a policy discussion to re-assess key bills first, the above meeting got delayed— once more.
In the end, this policy discussion also got pushed to later on.
Another problem was that representatives from both parties couldn't fine-tune their respective schedules, leading to the cancellation.
The conservative party additionally stated their aim to not attend. Sources say their notice to not appear is to rebut Rep. Kim Jong-in's failure to keep his promise of agreeing to process the “one-shot plan.”
